The Somali militant group al Shabaab, linked to al Qaeda, says it is responsible for the deadly ambush at a shopping mall in neighboring Kenya.
The attack in the capital Nairobi left at least 30 people dead, including children, and many others injured.
The shooting continued hours after the initial assault on the Westgate mall, which is popular with ex-pats here.
Security forces surrounded the mall and troops combed the building, hunting the attackers shop by shop.
