Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff has called off plans for a state visit to Washington in October.

It follows revelations that the United States may have spied on her personal communications and those of other Brazilians.

The alleged surveillance practices came to light in the latest leaked documents from whistleblower Edward Snowden.
