Barcelona, Sep 17 (EFE).- F.C. Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino confessed that he had "great expectations" for his Champions League debut scheduled for Wednesday against Ajax. The Argentine, however, added that he was also nervous due the magnitude of the circumstances.
These comments were made during a press conference, which took place on Tuesday, where the manager also reminded those in attendance that he had said, when he first joined the club, that not winning any titles in his first season would be an absolute failure. When asked which prize he preferred, La Liga or the Champions League, Martino stated that Barça was obliged to try and win all possible titles.
Martino was also asked about the team's apparent change in style. The manager answered that he had only asked players to choose wisely when determining when to play offensively and when to hold on to the ball, adding that the team needed to be more solid and efficient.
