A man in Bountiful, Utah was working from home when he heard a loud crash outside of his house at about 7:45 on a recent morning. Calling the wreckage outside Bill Bymaster’s residence an accident would have been an understatement.

A semitrailer, which weighed 89,000 pounds backed right into Bymaster’s house after it drove over and flattened a car in his driveway.

The semi had been hauling sand to a local golf course on the day of the crash, but the driver somehow lost control. According to a police spokesperson “The driver wasn’t able to get the truck into gear, felt that he had lost his differential and started to roll backwards. He attempted to apply the brakes, the brakes failed and rolled backwards into the home.”

The truck had rolled for about half a block before smashing into the house. Thankfully there were no human injuries resulting from the crash.

Nearby areas reported power outages.
