A man in Springfield, Missouri has been accused of brandishing and using a concrete bear statue during a fight.
The incident occurred on July 15th of this year,
The battle started when the unnamed victim attempted to help another person who Merriman was allegedly assaulting. That’s when the suspect got violent with the good Samaritan.
According to court documents, Merriman punched the male in the face numerous times. The victim fell, landing on his hands and knees but Merriman continued to attack him.
The victim later told police he witnessed Merriman with a knife, but it’s unclear if he used it during the assault. Court papers indicate that the concrete bear statue was definitely used. Merriman struck the other man’s head as he tried to get away.
Merriman was arrested and transported to the Greene County Jail.
He is currently being held on a $10,000 bond. The victim was hospitalized as during the fight as he sustained several facial fractures
