"Satyagraha" is an upcoming political thriller film directed by Prakash Jha starring Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpai and Amrita Rao in the lead roles. The current situations inspired Jha to make this movie. Director Jha said "This film is inspired by the public outrage that was seen at Jantar Mantar and India Gate, when middle-class Indians expressed their anger against corruption and rape, and also he added "It is not about where these movements led to or whether they were successful or not. What is important is that people wanted their voice to be heard.
Amitabh is playing a character who is a firm believer of society. While talking to reporters Ajay said, "The film is not just about the movement of public awakening but about the path that one needs to follow to have an energized society and also he said it is about people's perception of the society. Each character in the film depicts a different shade and how they perceive society is what makes it an interesting narration.
