A military jury has sentenced a United States Army psychiatrist to death for the 2009 murder of 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas.

Major Nidal Hasan said he committed the attack in retaliation for US wars in the Muslim world.

The jury in the case deliberated for over two hours before agreeing on the death penalty. A lethal injection will be used.
