The 70th Venice Film Festival got off to an explosive start on Wednesday (August 28) with the screening of Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron's 3D space movie 'Gravity' teaming George Clooney and Sandra Bullock as astronauts imperilled by a botched Russian missile shot.
Bullock and Clooney both arrived by boat to the post-press screening news conference, where Clooney faced a question about the current situation in Syria, which he chose to avoid.
Reminiscent of his 2009 Venice appearance when a male reporter professed his love for Clooney and had to be escorted from the news conference, Clooney appeared to be mildly irritated as another male reporter started complimenting the star on his hair, suit and sex appeal to women.
"See? We have time for one more question," Clooney said, pretending to close down the news conference.
