The owners were contacted through the dog's microchip (not really through it....like 007 or something.....but more so because of it) and the owner said the dog ran off after only owning it for a week or so. So perhaps the person dropping it in the park was someone helping because it was lost in an area with lots of traffic or whatnot (I've done that before). So the dog was returned to it's first owner...and is hopefully fine now.
