UN weapons inspectors have left central Damascus to investigate the site of an alleged chemical weapons strike on the outskirts of the Syrian capital.

The regime of President Basher al-Assad granted access to the area on Sunday.

Doctors on the ground are convinced that toxic agents were used in the attack.
