Guru Vandana - Marathi Shloka, is recited in praise of the Guru (Teacher). 'Guru Vandana' literally means 'Reverence for the Teacher' - A thanksgiving from a student to a teacher,expressing his/her gratitude. The word 'Guru', is a Sanskrit term for 'teacher' or 'master'. The Guru-Shishya tradition is the transmission of teachings from a Guru (Teacher) to a Shishya (Disciple). Devotees also chant this shloka at the end of all aartis in praise of God.
