Owning a house doesn’t necessarily give homeowners complete freedom. Neighbors may still find what you do on your own property objectionable.

A couple named Vincent and Heidi from Colorado are at the center of a squabble. The family had a handicapped ramp installed for their 16-year-old daughter Kirsten who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.

Their next door neighbors are attempting to sell their home, however they argue that the handicap ramp is negatively affecting the sale. Those same neighbors have threatened to take legal action to have the ramp removed.

Vincent stated “It's kind of irritating. I mean we're trying to do our best to assist our daughter with her daily needs to get in and out of the house.”

The neighborhood where the family lives does not have a Home Owners Association. They reportedly received permission from the City of Fountain to install the ramp and expand their driveway for a handicap van.

The family has contacted the Rocky Mountain American Disability Center for assistance with the issue.

What do you think? Should the ramp stay or go?
