An interview of Andrew Simms, chief analyst on the environment at Global
Witness & Fellow of the New Economics Foundation (NEF), recorded during the International Conference "An innovative society for the XXI century" held at Paris on July 12 & 13.
For Andrew Simms, our challenge is how can we change [our economy] quickly enough and in such a way we still meet the basic needs of everybody on the planet.
In order to end up with a new economy, the first thing for countries as Britain, France or Germany is a "Green New Deal", ie : financial innovations, moving to mass public transport system, reduicing demand for energy, changing our consumer models.
"I'm optimistic because there is a way ahead" concludes Andrew Simms.
