Suspension bridge below Uttarkashi

Garhwali village women walk along a farmland embankment, approaching this suspension bridge that lies downstream of Uttarkashi on a lovely sunny summer afternoon. Donkeys cross the bridge (or are they mules?) and the women and children then cross over. The Bhagirathi Ganga looks so harmless and innocent - who would have thought it would wreck such damage on our lovely state, in June 2013?

Bauhinia or Kachnar flowers colour a tree on one bank of the Ganges. This seems to be just below Matili and Nakuri villages, and in close to Dharasu.
