Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad Khan today laid foundation stone of Hyderabad Medical College and performed launching of pneumococal vaccine in EPI at Governor house. Addressing on the occasion he said that Health was a priority of this Government as it was one of the integral part of social sector. With the establishment of this college shortage of doctors would be addressed, he added.
Dr. Ebad further said that Pakistan has taken lead in launch of pneumonia vaccine and it would help in decreasing number of deaths in under 5 year children due to pneumonia. He also lauded sincere and devoted efforts of Minister Health Dr.Sagheer Ahmed and said that that due to his keen interest many health projects have been completed during last 4 years.Minister Health Dr .Sagheer Ahmed said that 5 medical colleges are being established in the province at Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur and Sanghar.
This medical college at Hyderabad being established with a cost of Rs.1400 million, would ensure better health education and treatment facilities after its completion in 2014,he said. He further said that foundation stone of Mirpurkhas Medical college would be laid soon.
