Egypt's interim president has vowed to fight those he said were driving the country towards chaos.

His first public address since taking power two weeks ago came as supporters of Egypt's deposed leader Mohamed Mursi gathered in large numbers in Cairo.

The show of strength from the Muslim Brotherhood appeared to have little impact on the new leader.
