While the general public is still unaware of the gender, Buckingham Palace did release a little tidbit.

A palace authority stated “The Queen declared by Letters Patent on December 31 2012 that 'all children of the eldest son of The Prince of Wales should have the style, title and attribute of Royal Highness with the titular dignity of Prince or Princess prefixed to their Christian names.”
The new baby will reportedly be the first princess or prince for Cambridge. Although details are slowly dripping out, the palace is handling the birth with extreme caution.
