Clashes between supporters of ex-President Mohamed Mursi and the army left at least three dead and several injured Friday in Cairo.
The protesters are demanding the release of Mursi who is being held at a military barracks just days after his removal from office.
Since the ousting of Mursi on Wednesday, security forces have detained many in the Muslim Brotherhood party.
Near Cairo University, Morsi supporters banded together for prayer and protest.
One protester says they will not accept the coup.
