Supporters of Egypt's embattled Islamist President Mohamed Mursi have been gathering in Cairo - far fewer in number those rallying to call for his resignation.

The campaigners stressed that Mursi was freely elected, with one supporter telling reporters: "Democracy means that the one who's elected is the one who rules."
