The Supreme Court striking down part of the Voting Rights Act in a move that will have major repercussions for future elections. Section 4 was declared unconstitutional, a section which mandated that regions with a history of racial discrimination had to get federal approval for changes in election law. The Supreme Court ruling essentially says the map targeting jurisdictions that show a discriminatory history is outdated.
