Russia's leaders turned out on Saturday to commemorate the anniversary of the start of what is known in the country as the Great Patriotic War when in 1941 Nazi Germany attacked the Soviet Union .
The ceremony took place at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.
