A worshipper wails as dead bodies are carried out of a mosque in Pakistan.
A suicide bomb attack killed at least 14 people and wounded more than 25 at a Shi'ite mosque in Pakistan's north-western city of Peshawar on Friday, according to authorities.
(SOUNDBITE) (Urdu) POLICE OFFICER, SAFIULLAH KHAN, SAYING:
"They were three attackers. Two of them were firing guns and the third was a suicide bomber. First they opened fire on our police guard injuring him, he is now in critical condition in hospital. After that, they helped the suicide bomber to reach the pulpit where he blew himself up. As a result 14 or 15 people were martyred and several others injured."
Shi'ites account for about 20 percent of the population in the majority Sunni Pakistan.
Similar attacks against Shia have been carried out in the past by radical Sunni militants.
But so far no one has claimed responsibility for this attack.
