Hollywood leading man Brad Pitt led the galaxy of stars in attendance at the opening of the Moscow film festival.

Fellow American actor Christian Slater also walked along the red carpet at the Pushkin Theatre in the Russian theatre.

Pitt's blockbuster World War Z opened the festival.

The Moscow Film Festival's international jury is headed up by French director Luc Besson.
