Recently exposed surveillance tactics of the US National Security Agency have raised questions over privacy rights in neighbouring Canada.

As Canada's internet traffic goes through US-based servers, many are worried their communication is being monitored.

The government there says that it has no access to the data gathered by US institutions, but reports have revealed details of Canada's own cyber-snooping programme.
