Fed up with the food wrappers, dirty diapers, and used condoms scattered around his neighborhood, a Chicago alderman has proposed a 1500-dollar fine for littering.

According to him, the current fines range between 50 and 100 dollars, and he is aware that the increase is excessive. He just wants to get people’s attention.

His ordinance is scheduled for committee consideration soon.

The town’s problem had gotten so bad that it was causing local businesses to suffer. Old people and parents with young kids alike said shopping in the profanity laden downtown area was just too uncomfortable.
