After by-polls for the Howarh and Maharajganj constituencies, the counting for votes came to an end with Trinamool Congress candidate Prasun Banerjee won the Howrah constituency, similarly in Maharajganj, Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav's led Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) outstand JD-U with its candidate Prabhunath Singh gained 31,000 votes defeating PK Shahi by a huge margin.
