An Indian bride-to-be left the groom at the altar. It was still a happy ending as the groom ended up marrying the bride's sister.
Marriage ceremonies can sometimes get a little hectic and dramatic. And particularly in India, where activities associated with a wedding are elaborate and can last for days.
A scheduled wedding in India initially went horribly wrong after a skittish bride-to-be left the groom at the altar.
The unidentified 22-year-old woman was slated to marry her partner at 11 in the morning on a Wednesday. Roughly 300 guests had already arrived at the venue.
As time passed, the bride was nowhere to be found. Her family contacted police. Investigators tried to trace her cell phone but it was switched off.
However, the woman’s relatives told cops that she had been in a relationship with another man.
After a day of confusion, anger and worry, the 22-year-old female returned as a married woman – not to the anticipating groom, but to the male she had reportedly cheated with.
In an attempt to rectify the situation, the newly wedded bride’s younger sister decided to tie the knot with the original groom. Once the ceremony was over, everyone left happy.
