STORY: Members of the The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) marked Britain's Queen Elizabeth II's 60th coronation anniversary by firing a 62 round Royal Salute on Monday (June 3).

At 1300 local time (1200GMT) soldiers from 3 Squadron HAC fired guns from the Thames river banks, near the Tower of London.

The Honourable Artillery Company is the British Army's oldest regiment.

Queen Elizabeth II was crowned on June 2, 1953 when she was just 27 years old, but as the anniversary fell on a Sunday, a day when gun salutes are traditionally not fired, the military spectacle was performed the day after instead.
